How it all started
Many years ago, I had the opportunity to work for a florist in Nashville, TN. Originally, hired as the office manager, my curiosity got the better of me and I soon learned floral design. I began making arrangements for the showroom and meeting with brides to help with wedding planning. I was in love with floral design. Nothing is better than creating something for someone and hearing "I love it". It is such a rewarding feeling.
Unfortunately the shop closed and I spent the next 20 years of my life wearing a lot of different professional hats, none of which fit me very well. I never quit crafting and arranging though. After moving to Grayville, Illinois, I donated some wreaths to community fundraisers and benefits, after which I would have quite a few people asking me to make them one.
My husband noted "Why don't you make a few and put them on Facebook and see what happens."
Well, what happened was my craft room overflowed and wreaths were taking over our entire house! So we decided to put a little shop next to my husband's business, Midwest Bit Co. Not knowing what to name it, I opened it up to friends on Facebook and Bits 'n Pieces was suggested, playing off the name of my husband’s company. So in October 2014, Bits 'n Pieces of Home opened.
Owning this shop is a dream come true for me. I knew all these years that this was truly what I wanted to be doing and am thankful that I have been given the opportunity. This shop to me represents not only my personal journey but other artisans’ aspirations as well. When you are passionate about what you do, it shows in the quality of what you produce. My ultimate goal in life is to hear customer's say "I love it". If that continues to happen, I will consider this venture a success.

Wreaths are my specialty.
Here are just a few of my favorites. I can design a wreath with your style so it can be one of your favorites, too!
